Academic Focus
Sacred Heart's academic focus is rooted in the belief that it is important
to educate the whole child to become the best person he or she can be.
We teach traditional academic disciplines in ways that recognize individual
differences.

Academic Standards
Our excellent academic standards, which encompass grades Pre-K
through 8th, are affirmed by our 1994 accreditation by the Commission
on Elementary Schools of the Middle States Association of Colleges and
Schools. Sacred Heart adheres to Archdiocesan Curriculum Guidelines
and State requirements. Students receive a strong foundation in the basic
learning skills which are reinforced by the integration of computers in the
curriculum through writing and appropriate math and science materials.
Windows on Science as well as computer software programs enhance our
curriculum. Students also participate in educational field trips which are
incorporated into subject curriculum.

been respected for its tradition of academic excellence in a caring, secure
and disciplined environment. It has become an integral part of the Parish
Community often serving generations of the same family.

Facilities
Our facilities include a well-maintained four-story building with
classrooms that are attractive, spacious and inviting. There is a
computerized library, Internet accessible computer lab, Computer
Assisted Instruction (Title I) lab, a prayer room, art room and a cafeteria
with a hot lunch program.  Each classroom is wireless with Internet
accessibility. A cart containing a Laptop and a LCD projector can be used
in the individual classrooms. A digital camera is used during the course of
the school year.  Teachers use school Laptops to enhance curriculum and
lesson plans.

Faculty
Sacred Heart's dedicated faculty includes Sisters, Servants of the
Immaculate Heart of Mary, who have been a driving force at Sacred
Heart since its very first day, and a committed, caring lay faculty.

Gift of God
At Sacred Heart, we believe that each child is a unique gift of God and
we encourage each child to become Christ-centered by following the
Commandments, the Beatitudes and the Precepts of
the Church.

Home and School
The Sacred Heart Home and School Association encourages the active
participation of parents through fundraising and attendance of the Home
and School meetings. Fund raisers such as: candy sales, pizza kits, cookie
dough, and pie sales have provided Sacred Heart with new windows, new
student desks and chairs, radiator covers, maps and globes, textbooks,
and trade books.

Sacred Heart School provides math and Title I reading instruction,
counseling, testing services, speech and language development, and the
Merit Program which lends assistance to teachers in the Integrated
